InMotion Hosting, the company I use to host this site was hacked globally. Not just NMDS was targeted, pretty much every single one of their customers was at least defaced or taken offline. They have alot of customers. This was bad.
They say all that happened was defacement. Nothing was taken and nothing was installed, but I have no way of actually verifying that. I had to go through an upgrade/recovery process to get the site back, so compromised files in NMDS and permissions have been fixed to the best of my ability. I'm not worried personally. Passwords are not stored clear text and I don't keep any other identifiable information except email addresses. If you are so inclined you may want to change your password on this and any other site that used the same password. It's just a precaution. Anyway sorry for the absence and inconvenience. It was out of my hands and wasn't a security failing of the site. They got in through a hole in InMotion's infrastructure. Let me know if you find anything weird. The recovery process was rocky. I started a thread about it in general discussions if anyone wants to ask questions or comment: http://www.nmdualsport.org/nmds-smf2/index.php?topic=3962.0 Matt

The SPAM Bots are finding their way into the forum. So far none have succeeded in posting but a bunch successfully registered. I turned up the difficulty level on the registration and added a security question.
If you see any blatant or suspicious posts, you can hit the "report" button and I'll take care of it. I've also turned on Administrator approval so registrations will not be instant. Spammers are still getting through. I'm going to enable some other security measures later when I can take the site offline for a bit. Thanks, Matt

Looks like I had a mis-configuration in my email settings so activation emails may not have been going out. I reset and retested the email stuff and it seems to be better now.
I resent activation emails to everyone who has registered in the last few days. I would just mass activate but there are a few suspicious emails there. So it is better if everyone follows the right process. Sorry for the inconvenience! Matt

![]() Welcome Back! If you are seeing this, it means we are back in business on the new site. Here are some things to keep in mind:
So things will be changing over the coming days. I'll start putting some articles together pointing out new features of SMF and taking requests of things to implement. This is a much better platform for our purposes than what we are coming from so there are tons of things we can do. If you have any trouble send an email to: admin@nmdualsport.org
